bdreports24 Desk A four-day long program celebrating “Bangladesh International Model United Nations (BiMUN) 2023” organised by United Nations Youth & Students Association of Bangladesh (UNYSAB) ended on Saturday at the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) in Dhaka. French Ambassador to Bangladesh, H.E. Mrs. Marie Masdupuy was present as a chief guest and Registrar of AIUB, Group Captain (Ret.) Dr. Mohammad Zahidul Islam Khan was present as a special guest at the closing ceremony of BiMUN-2023. BiMUN-2023 conducted ten committee sessions successfully throughout the event, which ended with the closing plenary. Bangladesh is not taking IMF loan on condition: PM tells JS

BSS  Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today told the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) that Bangladesh is not taking loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on any condition. "IMF only lends (to any country) when the country attains the ability for repayment. We are not taking loan (from the IMF) with any condition," she said while responding to a question from the Jatiya Party lawmaker Md Mujibul Haque of Kishoreganj-3 constituency. Tk 1.5b allocate for road accident victims

A special fund of at least Tk 1.5 billion is going to be created for road-accident victims and fatally injured people, as the Road Transport Rules 2022 (RTR) has kept the provision of forming the fund by collecting fees from vehicles. To create the fund, the RTR guides to collect Tk 1,500, Tk 1,000, Tk 750, Tk 500, and Tk 300 each from the motorised transports, according to types, during their registration and renewal. Deadline for VAT exemption on edible oil extended till April 30

The deadline for VAT exemption on import of soybean oil and palm oil has been extended by four months till April 30, 2023 in order to keep stable the price of such edible oil.
The National Board of Revenue (NB) has issued a notification in this regard on Monday. Earlier on December 31, 2022, the deadline for VAT exemption on import of such edible oil ended, reports BSS.
