Johan Buse new CEO of Banglalink

NFAs grow by 4.22pc year-on-year
The number of No-Frill Accounts (NFAs) increased by 0.9 per cent compared to the previous quarter and 4.22 per cent year-on-year, according to a report. The largest proportion of these accounts is linked to Social Safety Net (SSN) programmes, comprising 37.12 per cent of the total, followed by farmer accounts, which represent 36.95 per cent.

Israel strikes in Gaza kills 121
Israel on Tuesday unleashed its most intense campaign on the Gaza Strip since a January ceasefire, with rescuers reporting more than 121 people killed, prompting Hamas to accuse Benjamin Netanyahu's government of torpedoing the truce. The strikes were ordered after "Hamas's repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and the mediators," Netanyahu's office said in a statement. Guterres’s visit refloats Rohingya issue, supplement reform agenda
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres returned to his workplace wrapping up a four-day visit to Bangladesh with foreign relations analysts seeing it as a significant event when the South Asian nation passes a challenging time.
"The visit was important when Bangladesh is going through a transition, a challenging time with an election ahead, reform initiatives going on; and uncertainties over external factors like the Rohingya crisis," former diplomat Humayun Kabir told the media.
