Agrani Bank 7th annual general meeting held  

The 7th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Agrani Bank Limited was held at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla, Dhaka on Wednesday (May 07, 2014). Dr. Khondoker Bazlul Hoque, Chairman of the Board of Directors presided over the meeting. Mr. Amalendu Mukharjee, Aditional-secretary of Bank and Financial institutions Division as a Representative of the Ministry of Finance was present in the meeting.

Among others, members of the Board of Directors of the Agrani Bank Ltd, Managing Director & CEO, Deputy Managing Directors, General Managers and Company Secretary of the bank were also present at the meeting.

Chairman of the bank Dr. Bazlul Hoque said that the bank continued to grow steadily in all major areas in 2013. Total deposit of the bank increased to Tk. 34868 crore from 29243 crore. Investment of the bank has been increased to 14993 crore from 9242 crore. Agrani bank is in top position at remittance in Bangladesh among all state owned commercial bank. Remittence increased to 12657 crore in 2013 from 11681 crore in 2012. Now non-residence Bangladeshi can send remittance by online through its 903 branch. After tax profit of the bank in 2013 is 905 crore taka.

He also expressed that the bank would achieve the desired target under the prudent guidance of the proven and experienced Board of Directors and leadership of experienced Managing Director and CEO of the bank.

The meeting approved the Financial Statements for the year 2013, Reports of the Directors and Auditors fee for the year 2013 and the Bank’s activities and the result achieved in 2013.

Syed Abdul Hamid expressed his gratitude to the respected Customers, Stakeholders, Regulatory Authority, Members of the Board of Directors and all executives, officers and employees of the bank for their continued co-operation and relentless efforts in achieving success for the bank.
