Bankers’ should minimize credit risk, says ICC workshop

Banks today are the largest financial institutions around the world, with branches and subsidiaries throughout everyone’s life. However, commercial banks are facing risks when they are operating credit related activities.

Credit Risk is one of the most significant risks that banks face, considering that granting credit is one of the main sources of income in commercial banks. Therefore, the management of the risk related to credit affects the profitability of the banks said Mr. Muhammad A. (Rumee), Chairman, ICCB Standing Committee on Banking Technique and Practice while inaugurating ICC workshop on Application of Rules for International Trade Finance in Dhaka today ( May 28). He urged the bankers should gather full of knowledge of Risk Management so that they can minimize the Credit Risk.

Mr. Anis A. Khan, Managing Director & CEO, Mutual Trust Bank Limited in his address said there are no options to be skilled as a Banker besides training. In this regard he appreciated continuous effort of ICC Bangladesh to train up the bankers’ home and abroad.

Mr. Ataur Rahman, Secretary General, ICC Bangladesh focused on some of the ongoing important programme for the bankers organized by ICC Bangladesh regularly. A total of 75 participants attended the workshop. Another workshop on the same topic will be held on June 01 and another 40 participants will attend the workshop.
