BSF pushes back 11 Bangladeshis illegally

Eleven Bangladeshi nationals were pushed into Bangladesh illegally by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) through Bangabari border under Gomostapur Upazila here last night. BSF of Petrolgar Company pushed them into Bangladesh instead of handing them over to BGB in a proper way.

Police of Gomostapur Thana detained them at Naderabad area under Alinagar union of Gomostapur Upazila of the district today at around 8 am, OC of Gomostapur thana said, reports BSS.

The detained Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Milon, 24, son of Dhananjoy Roy of Panikata village, Manu Chandra Roy, 24, son of Dhaneswar Roy of Jagannathpur village and Mostofa, 55, son of late Samir Uddin of the same village under Phulbari upazila, Palash, 20, son of Bibhas Chandra of Chhoto Baul village, Bhupati Chandra, 20, son of Mohonchandra Roy, Pradip, 22, son of Subash Chandra, Gayanath Chandra, 30, son of Dijen Chandra of the same village under Chirirbandar upazila, Mostafizur, 23, son of Shofiqul Islam of Akra village under Biral upazila, Aminul, 40, son of Sharfuddin of Chatna village under Bochaganj upazila all of Dinajpur district, Selim Sheikh, 25, son of Fazar Sheikh of Bakura village under Monirampur upazila of Jessore district and Jerul Mondal, 22, son of Khalil Mondal of Ghoshgati village under Digholia upazila of Khulna district.

When contacted, Commanding Officer of 43 battalion of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Naogaon Lieutenant Colonel Abu Jafar said, after interrogation they came to know that these people went to India in search of job through Hilli border with the help of a broker in August, 2011 and were arrested by the Indian police.

They were jailed on different terms and on completion of their prison term they were released from Bahrampur jail in Murshidabad district of West Bengal on Friday noon and were handed over to Malda BSF headquarters.

Later BSF of Petrolgar Company pushed them into Bangladesh though BGB asked BSF for a Company Commander level flag meeting. The detained persons are now under Gomostapur police custody.
