Discussion on planned urban system in city

Ghasful, a mass-media house organized an open discussion on ‘Planned Urban System and Dhaka City’ on June 20, 2014, Friday at Conference Lounge of National Press Club.

Presided over by Prof. Nazrul Islam, prominent urban expert and Chairman of Urban Research City Study Centre, the program was started with the self composed poem ‘Jati-ma Pahara dey’ by Poet Mohammad Nurul Huda. Architect Iqbal Habib, Joint Secretary, Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) presented the keynote paper followed by welcome addressed by Literateur Ata Sarkar.

Expressing the theme of ‘We demand water-source and play ground, we demand free blue sky,’ the program was addressed among others by Advocate Monjil Morshed, Liakat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice President, Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), Prof. Nurul Islam Nazem, City Planner, Poet Sohrab Hasan, Deputy Editor, Daily Porthom Alo, Prof. Haradhon Ganguly, Assistant Editor, Daily Sangbad, Rakib Ansari, Managing Director, Tansir Properties. Jamaluddin, Special Correspondent, Daily Ittefaq moderate the whole program, while Mahmudul Hasan Rubel introduced.
