Employees demonstrate in front of Islami Bank’s HQ

A group of officials and staff from Islami Bank Bangladesh staged a demonstration in front of the bank’s head office in Dhaka’s Motijheel area on Tuesday, protesting against being denied official benefits and promotions for the past 15 years.

The demonstrators took down and destroyed pictures of the former Prime Minister and her father, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. They called for the punishment of high-ranking officials from S Alam Group and their appointed representatives at Islami Bank.

According to bank officials, the managing director and deputy managing director did not come to the office today.
