Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) on Sunday urged the government to enforce the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009 immediately across the country.
The meeting stressed the need for checking the soaring prices of commodities and strengthening anti-adulteration drives with effective implementation of the Safe Food Act 2013 to protect the public health.
The CAB annual general meeting also elected its nine-member executive body for the next two years (2015-‘16).
Ghulam Rahman, a former chairman of Anti Corruption Commission (ACC), has been reelected CAB chairman while Advocate Humayyun Kabir Bhuiyan general secretary.
