For Kids’ Sake show features Bangladesh art

The For Kids’ Sake Art Show fundraiser continues with an Off the Wall Art Sale at the Longbranch Cafe & Bakery now through Monday, May 18.

The show features 25 paintings from Kamal Talukder, a deaf artist from rural Bangladesh. Kamal supports his family solely from the sale of his art, and half of the profits from the sale at Longbranch will go directly to Kamal and his family. The remaining 50 percent will benefit For Kids’ Sake.

The back room of the Longbranch, 100 E Jackson St., also features colorful and unique artwork from Southern Illinoisan students.

All art is discounted and can be taken off the wall immediately upon purchase.

Proceeds from the sale of the art directly benefit orphans and students in Bangladesh.
