Ghasful organises discussion on urban system

Ghasful, a mass-media house organized recently an open discussion on ‘Planned Urban System and Dhaka City’ at Conference Lounge of National Press Club.

Presided over by Prof. Nazrul Islam, prominent urban expert and Chairman of Urban Research Centre, the program was started with the self composed poem ‘Jati-ma Pahara dey’ by Poet Mohammad Nurul Huda. Architect Iqbal Habib, Joint Secretary, Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA) presented the keynote paper followed by welcome addressed of Literateur Ata Sarkar.

Expressing the theme of ‘We demand water-source and play ground, we demand free blue sky,’ the program was addressed among others by Advocate Monjil Morshed, Liakat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice President, Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB), Prof. Nurul Islam Nazem, Urban Planner, Poet Sohrab Hasan, Deputy Editor, Daily Porthom Alo, Prof. Haradhon Ganguly, Assistant Editor, Daily Sangbad, Rakib Ansari, Managing Director, Tansir Properties. Jamaluddin, Special Correspondent, Daily Ittefaq moderated the program, while Mahmudul Hasan Rubel introduced.
