Govt to distribute 36.03cr textbooks in 2017

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid today said the government would provide 36,03,18,979 textbooks free of cost among the students in the next academic calendar.

The minister came up with this announcement at a view exchange meeting on textbook printing for 2017 at National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) auditorium.

Besides, the government will also distribute pre-primary textbook of five ethnic minorities in their mother tongues and teaching manual for the teacher for the first time in the country.

“We are working for writing textbooks in Chakma, Marma, Tripura Kabbar, Sadri and Garo languages so that children of these ethnicities could start their education life with own mother tongues,” added the education minister.

Mentioning that they are formulating 60 lakh “Teachers’ Guide” for primary teacher and 40.32 lakh “Teachers’ Curriculum” for high school teacher, Nahid said, those guide books are being prepared for the overall development of the education system.
