IUB, Japan Kobe College engage with Rajshahi, Manikganj farming communities

Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and Kobe College (KC), Japan, concluded the KC-IUB Winter Research Camp 2025, held from February 7 to 13, 2025, in culturally diverse farming communities in Manikganj and Rajshahi.

The camp focused on field research on food and agricultural practices, engaging students and faculty members from both IUB and KC.

Participants applied socio-scientific methods to collect and analyze data, examining the role of food and agriculture in the social and cultural context. The initiative provided practical research experience and facilitated cross-cultural academic exchange between the two institutions.

The camp concluded with a presentation of findings, where students shared research outcomes through reports and exhibitions. The initiative established a framework for future collaborations in academic research and field-based studies.

The winter camp is the first of a series of academic collaborations planned under the Memorandum of Understanding between IUB and Kobe College, Japan.
