Meghna Bank appoints new MD

Mohammed Nurul Amin has recently joined Meghna Bank Limited as Managing Director and CEO for a period of 3 years. Before that he was Managing Director & CEO of NCC Bank Ltd. for 9 successful years. Mr. Amin obtained his Honors in 1973 and Master’s Degree in 1974 in Economics from the University of Dhaka.

He started his banking career as Senior Officer in 1977 in Janata Bank Ltd. and then joined National Bank Ltd., the first private Bank in the country in 1983. Thereafter he joined NCC Bank Limited (the then National Credit Ltd.) in 1985 and was promoted to the rank of DMD.

In 2005, he was appointed Managing Director & CEO of The Bank in recognition to his sincere services in Bank Management. During this time he held the positions of Chairman of Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB), Chairman of Primary Dealers Bangladesh Ltd. (PDBL) and Vice Chairman of Bangladesh foreign Exchange Dealers’ Association (BAFEDA). He is a life member of Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA) and presently the treasurer of Dhaka University Economics Department Alumni Association(DUEDAA).

A career Banker for 37 years Mr. Amin received extensive training on Bank Management at home and abroad and obtained higher education in Banking and Strategic Leadership from some best University of the world. He is a widely travelled person and has vast knowledge of Banking Operations of many countries of the world.
