‘Most Female Friendly Organization’ award to BATB

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) was recognized as the Most Female Friendly Organization in private sector on International Women’s Day for improving great work environment in their office. The main objective of the event ‘RFL Inspiring Women Award’ organized by Bangladesh Brand Forum-(BBF) was to honor the women working in different sectors as role models.

Tuesday (8 March, 2015), on the eve of International Women’s Day, BBF handed over the awards to the winners. BATB won ‘Most Female Friendly Organizationaward.’ Mr. Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, BATB & Ms. Rumana Rahman, Head of HR, BATB received the award on behalf of the organization. Farah Zabeen, Area Head of Secondary Manufacturing Department was also recognized through honorary mention as ‘Progressive Women Leader‘for achieving success in leadership on workplace.

Mr. Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, British American Tobacco Bangladesh says, BATB always believes in diversity. To develop women leadership BATB has always patronized women working in their office & BATB will do so in future.

Ms. Rumana Rahman, Head of HR says, women can lead in every sphere. In our organization we were able to create an interface of women leadership & created some successful women leader.

At BAT Bangladesh, currently 5 women are working in senior positions and leading big teams. Another 7 women are working in trade marketing roles across the country. The rest women are positioned in various key roles of the organization. BATB invests heavily in making the work environment friendly and suitable for women. For the children of dual-income family employees, the organization has established a day care. Frequent sessions are also held throughout the year on feminine issues to raise awareness and empower the women with knowledge.
