President Abdul Hamid today urged the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to be more active to make the government more responsible, reports BSS.
He said this when an eight-member delegation of NHRC, led by its chairman Prof Dr Mizanur 
President Hamid observed that the commission can play an important role in ensuring transparency and accountability of the activities of the government.
He praised the overall activities of the commission.
The delegation apprised the President of various aspects of the report. They recommended appointing the existing honorary members of the commission as full-time members with a view to making the NHRC more effective.
