RAB new DG, new DMP commissioner appointed

The top positions of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) were reconstituted on Wednesday.

AKM Shahidur Rahman has been appointed as the new Director General of RAB, replacing Additional Inspector General of Police Md. Harun Ar Rashid.

In addition, Md. Mainul Hasan has been named the new commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, taking over from Habibur Rahman.

These new appointments were announced today in a notification by the public security division of the home ministry.

On Tuesday night, Mainul Islam was appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP). Prior to this, he served as the commandant (Additional IGP) of the Police Traffic and Driving School.
