Robi has launched electricity bill payment service facility for Power Development Board (PDB) in Rangpur division. This came at a launching ceremony organized at Rangpur Parjatan Motel on Tuesday (31 March).
This electricity bill payment system on mobile phones is to be integrated with the PDB’s electricity billing system. Hence, electricity bills paid through Robi’s payment system will be updated real time on PDB’s system. From convenience point of view, PDB clients may choose to pay their bills either through Robi Cash Points or through their mobile phones.
Mobile users will get an automatic SMS regarding their monthly dues. Besides, they will get a reminder text prior to the payment deadline in case they forget to pay the dues. Moreover, once they pay, they will get an immediate confirmation of the payment. Hence, Robi mobile electricity bill payment system is completely secure and reliable.
Dr. ATM Mahbub-ul-Karim; ADC (General), Rangpur was present on the occasion as Special Guest and Sharfuddin Ahmed Jhantu, Mayor, Rangpur City Corporation was present as the Chief Guest. Engr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, BPDB (Sr. System Analyst); Engr. Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Chief Engineer, BPDB, Rangpur along with other PDB officials from Rangpur were also present at the bill payment launching ceremony.
Shah Jalal Uddin, Head of Business Operations, Digital Services of Robi gave a short brief on the payment process of electricity bills over mobile phone. Besides, benefits of the electricity bill payment service through mobile phones were captured in a rendition of Gombhira, an integral part of North Bengal’s cultural heritage. The programme was conducted by Ekram Kabir, Vice President, Communications and Corporate Responsibility of Robi.
Ahammad Jubaer Ali, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Programme Management Office; Dewan Nazmul Hasan, Head of Finance & Regulation, Digital Service; Shahed Kamal, Regional Manager, Rangpur along with other Robi officials were present on the occasion.
