Robi picks up Best Employer Award in HRD Congress

Robi Axiata Ltd, the country’s second largest mobile operator in terms of revenue, has been awarded the 5^th Best Employer of the Year award at the 22^nd World HRD Congress, 2014, recently.

The “Best Employer of the Year” Award is one of the most coveted of HRD Congress events and vied for by companies around the world, according to the World HRD Congress Advisory Council.

Robi was also presented awards in the categories of “Talent Management”, “Best HR strategy in line with Business”, and “Global HR Strategy.” Moreover, Robi Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), Matiul Islam Nowshad was also recognized as a global HR leader at the congress and was presented with the “Most Talented 50 Global Leaders in Asia” award.

Commenting on Robi’s global recognition at the international HR Professionals congress, Robi Managing Director & CEO, Supun Weerasinghe, said that winning the awards and being bestowed such honour by the industry global peers “only strengthens our belief that we are headed towards the right direction.”

The three-day 22^nd World HRD Congress concluded in Mumbai last 17 February. The theme of this year’s congress was ‘Mining the human potential for creating great organizations’

The World HRD Congress comprises of 100 partner countries, including Bangladesh. The evaluation process for awards at the World HRD Congress involves initial screening by an Academic Council, followed by final selection by a Professional Council.
