Seminar on Arts of Bangladesh held in city

Ghasful, a mass-media house organized a seminar on the occasion of Centenary of Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin on ‘Arts of Bangladesh: Impact of the Tradition of the East and European Modernism’ recently at Conference Lounge of National Press Club.

Presided over by Prof. Nazrul Islam, Artist Prof. Matlub Ali Presented the keynote paper on the subject. The seminar was addressed among others by Prof. Mohbub Talukder, Artist Syed Lutful Haque and Prof. Syed Azizul Haque. The seminar was started by recitation from poem by Rabia Sultana Panna. Welcome addressed was delivered by Ata Sarkar. The seminar was anchored by Ibtida Farhat Tropa. The discussant expected that the Centenary will be celebrated by government venture.

The discussant said that Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin is the founding father of modern Arts of Bangladesh. He has a great impact on cultural aspect of our country. They said, the history of Arts in Bangladesh is the record of modern art practice. They mentioned that the art of Bangladesh is the reflection of western based practices of arts.
