Rajshahi University Teachers’ Association (RUTA) stands against the transfer of Motihar police Station on university campus.
They demanded to cancel the syndicate’s decision, to transfer Motihar thana in RU campus which was passed on March 31, to the 
RUTA has taken the decision in an emergency meeting on Tuesday night, Ruta president Prof Ananda Kumar Saha told The New Nation.
He also said, ‘being the university is an autonomous body, it is immoral to establish any administrative thana on its premises’.
Ruta also apprehends that harassment of general students to the hands of law enforcers may be increased by doing such act.
However, teachers, students and socio-political organisations of the university also protested the decision of the authority.
Earlier on March 31, the university authority in its 458th syndicate meeting discussed about transferring of Motihar thana in campus and setting up a sub-police station on campus following an application from Rajshahi Metropalitan Police authorities.
