Traffic Wari Division takes action against beacon light, hooter

Traffic Wari Division conducted an operation from 07:00 pm to 9:30 Pm on Wednesday (8 May 2024) against illegal beacon/flicker lights, hooters, hydraulic horns and stickers used in vehicles.

Headed by DC (Traffic-Wari) Mohammad Ashraf Imam and under the supervision of ADC (Traffic-Wari) Sultana Ishrat Jahan, the operation was run by AC (Traffic-Demra zone) Mustain Billah Ferdous’ team at Matuail U-loop on Chittagong Road.

Action was taken against six vehicles in the raid under Road Transport Act 2018. Two vehicles were charged with illegal stickers, three vehicles with illegal beacons or flicker lights and one vehicle with illegal hydraulic horns.

A review of raid records shows that a person was using beacon lights in a car shining the name of a former upazila chairman, a covered van was using beacon lights and a member of the Zilla Parishad was using beacon lights in a company car.

Moreover, a company car was using a hydraulic horn by using the name of a Member of Parliament. Action was also taken against a vehicle using police sticker and a vehicle of a garments using BGMEA sticker.

This campaign will continue on behalf of the Commissioner, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, to ensure order of vehicles on the road, says DC Traffic Wari.
