Trump halts military aid to Ukraine

President Donald Trump has ordered a suspension of all military aid to Ukraine, escalating tensions with President Volodymyr Zelenskiy following a heated confrontation in the Oval Office. The move has cast uncertainty over Ukraine’s most crucial ally.

According to a senior official from the US Department of Defense, who spoke anonymously, all pending military assistance will remain on hold until Trump is satisfied that Ukraine’s leadership is making a genuine commitment to peace.

A White House official also stated that the administration would reassess the aid to ensure it contributes to resolving the ongoing conflict.

Meanwhile, Trump has announced the implementation of 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico, declaring that negotiations to reach a deal had run out of time. US stock markets responded negatively to the decision, which has been a looming threat for months. Additionally, a 10% tariff on Chinese imports is set to come into effect, significantly increasing trade barriers for America’s three largest trading partners within a short period.

Speaking at the White House on Monday, Trump confirmed, “There is no room left for Mexico or Canada. The tariffs are final and will take effect tomorrow.”
