Dhaka-based US-Bangla Airlines has acquired two second-hand Bombardier Q400s turboprop aircraft, which it operate on domestic routes from late March or April 2014.
Based at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, US-Bangla Airlines plans to operate the 76-seat Q400s on domestic routes to destinations including Chittagong, Sylhet, Jessore and Cox’s Bazar.
But the airline has big plans for the future. In the second phase of its expansion it plans serve regional international destinations including Kolkata, Chennai, Yangon, Kathmandu, Colombo and Bangkok, while a third phase will see the launch of long-haul services using wide-body Airbus and Boeing jets.
