Zaher re-elected IBCF Chairman

Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher, Chairman, Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited was re- elected as Chairman, Md. Nazrul Islam Mazumder, Chairman of EXIM  Bank & Badiur Rahman, Chairman of Al-Arafah Islami Bank were re- elected as Vice Chairmen of Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF). The election for the year 2014 of  IBCF was held on March 25, 2014 at the Meeting Room of BAB’s OfficeJabbarTower (16th Floor), Gulshan-1, Dhaka-1212 in its 43rd Meeting.

Chairman of IBCF Prof. Abu Nasser Muhammad Abduz Zaher was born in a devoted Muslim family at Companygon in Noakhali on 1st July 1948. He achieved his Master degree in English literature from the University of Rajhshahi. At present he is the Chairman, Board of Directors of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited and Managing Director of Ibn Sina Pharmaceutical Industry Limited. He is the Chairman of Industrialists and Businessmen Welfare Foundation & Vice Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks. He is the member of the OIC Task Force on Small & Medium Enterprises, Board of Directors of General Council for Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions, Bahrain, Accounting & Auditing Organizations for Islamic Financial Institutions, Bahrain, Islamic Financial Services Board, Malaysia, International Islamic Financial Market, Bahrain, International Islamic Centre for Reconciliation and Arbitration, UAE. He is also involved with different socio-economic, educational & social-welfare organizations.

Vice ChairmanMd. Nazrul Islam Mazumder was born in a devoted Muslim family at Laksam in Comilla. He achieved his Master Degree in English literature from the ChittagongUniversity. He is the Chairman of Bangladesh Association of Banks, Chairman, Board of Directors of EXIM Bank ltd., one of the private banks of the country and also the Chairman of the NASSA Group, a group of industries manufacturing and exporting readymade garments.

Vice Chairman Badiur Rahman is a Sponsor Director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. and Chairman of AIBL Capital Market Services Ltd. He hails from a respectable family of Brahmanbaria District. Professionally Mr. Badiur Rahman is a prominent businessman both locally and internationally. He is the adviser of K.D.S. Group, one of the leading industrial groups of Chittagong. He is also one of the Directors of Central Hospital Ltd., Human Resources Development Company Ltd. and HURDCOInternationalSchool.  Badiur Rahman is associated with many social-welfare organizations.
