At a conference in Barcelona, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg says he remains focused on spreading internet connectivity and is looking at the next phase of content, which involves virtual reality.
However, he is hardly content with doing things like they were done yesterday or even today and described to the audience his vision for the future of content and virtual reality.
Thanks to Facebook’s Oculus acquisition, Zuckerberg is testing the virtual reality waters, and said, according to Breitbart, content will be “going from text, to photos to videos to fully immersive scenes that you can be a part of.” This will involve constructing models “to show people much richer descriptions of what you are thinking and experience at that point.” Zuckerberg thinks this trend will likely materialize in the next 5-10 years, but already exists with Minecraft which enables users to construct an alternate reality out of pixels.
