Adil Islam new Meghna Bank CEO

Meghna Bank has recently appointed Mr. Adil lslam as its CEO and Managing Director. He has more than 27 years of banking and business leadership experience, gained through working in various international banks and financial institutions in Southeast Asia and Middle East.

Adil Islam has a Masters degree in International Banking and Financial Studies from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, Scotland. He has knowledge and experience in business development, risk governance, organizational transformation and driving sustainable business growth. Adil Islam has held business and functional head positions both in Bangladesh and in overseas locations, working for top companies like HSBC, ANZ, American Express, Mashreq Bank and other international banks.

Over the years, he has held positions which included Chief Risk Officer for South & Southeast Asia, ANZ Bank Singapore; Chief Risk Officer, HSBC Indonesia; Head of Wholesale Banking, HSBC Bangladesh and others. His area of specialty spans across Corporate Banking, Trade, Cash Management, Financial Institutions, Structured Finance, Private Banking, Commercial Banking, Islamic Banking, Credit and Risk Governance. He has taken overseas postings in locations such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, UK, Singapore and Indonesia. Immediately before joining Meghna Bank, Adil was the Additional Managing Director of City Bank.
