Diplomatic talks with India over ongoing flooding
Disaster Management and Relief Adviser Farooq-e-Azam has stated that efforts are ongoing to maintain communication with affected people and that they are trying to establish contact with India.
He emphasized the need to urgently save lives amidst the nationwide floods.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Advisory Council at the Chief Adviser's Office on Thursday. After the meeting, the adviser spoke to journalists.
The Disaster and Relief Adviser said that the country is experiencing an unexpected flood situation. It has been decided to coordinate efforts involving the Army, Navy, and Anti-Discrimination Movement coordinators to manage the floods. Efforts are underway to maintain as much communication with the people as possible.

NBR seeks account details of Salman, Akbar, 3 other business tycoons
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has asked banks, financial institutions and National Savings Authority to provide details of five business tycoons and their family members.
They are-- Summit Group founder-chairman Aziz Khan, Orion Group chief Mohammad Obaidul Karim, Beximco Group's co-founder and vice-chairman Salman F Rahman, Nasa Group chairperson Nazrul Islam Mazumder and Bashundhara Group founder Ahmed Akbar Sobhan.

13pc of mobile network sites down in flood-affected areas
Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Nahid Islam on Thursday informed that 13 percent of the mobile network sites was down in the flood-affected areas while the network has disrupted in several upazilas due to damage of optical fibers.
"The electricity was cut off in several areas where generators are being used (to ensure power supply). If the network goes completely down, 10 VSATs are ready for deployment," the adviser was quoted as he saying in a press release issued by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.
Nahid, also adviser for posts, telecommunications and information technology, said instructions have been given to make the mobile network available in the flood affected areas.
Thousands marooned, one dead as flood hits six districts
As many as 1,90,000 families have been marooned and one person dead as flood hit six districts due to onrush of upstream water and nonstop rain over the last few days.
A person was drowned in flood water at Fulgazi upazila in Feni district, according to a statement of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry issued at 10am today.
A total of 43 upazilas under Cumilla, Feni, Chattogram, Khagrachhari, Noakhali and Moulvibazar districts are witnessing flood while as many as 17882 people and 3486 shelter centers have been given shelter to 1359 shelter centers.
A total of 309 medical teams have been opened for providing treatment to affected people.
Taka 1,42,00,000 (cash), 8550 metric tonnes of rice and 8000 packets of dry foods have been allotted for the flood affected districts....
Flashflood risk in Cumilla; Feni, Chattogram flood levels steady
The water level of Gumti river of Cumilla district may flow above danger level and may flashflood in the adjoining low-lying areas in the 24 hours commencing 9am on Wednesday according to the Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).
The water level of Muhuri and Halda rivers of Feni and Chattogram districts may flow above danger level and flood situation in the low-lying areas may remain unchanged, it said.
The water level of Manu, Khowai, Dhalai rivers of Moulvibazar and Habiganj districts may flow above danger level and flood situation in the low-lying areas may remain unchanged during the period.
