Shakil begins ‘Sea to Summit’ expedition

To raise awareness about plastic pollution and promote sustainable environmental solutions, UNDP Youth Advocate and mountaineer Ikramul Hasan Shakil started his journey on foot from Inani Beach, Cox’s Bazar, to Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak on 25 February 2025.

In a report published on its website on Thursday, it stated:

“The claim that Bengali is the second official, official, or state language of Sierra Leone is incorrect, as the language was never considered a second state language in Sierra Leone.”
