
“Solar Ready Vets” Will Train 25,000 By 2020
The sun shone bright on a major US military installation in Utah Friday morning as President Barack Obama announced that Hill Air Force Base, which hosts Material Command’s 75th Air Base Wing, would take part in a new “Solar Ready Vets” program. At ten bases, a joint program from the Departments of Energy and Defense will help personnel leaving the military transition to solar careers. It’s part of a major national initiative to train 75,000 workers in solar by 2020.

GMR to sell 500 MW energy to BD from Nepal
Infrastructure major GMR India is to enter into an agreement with Bangladesh to export 500 MW electricity from two hydropower projects it is constructing in Nepal, according to officials here.
GMR has already signed an agreement with the Nepal government to build the 900-MW Upper Karnali project in western Nepal and is in the final stages of acquiring permission for constructing the 600-MW Upper Marsyangdi-II project in central Nepal.
