Garment workers block roads at Narayanganj for dues

The workers of Beka Garments and Textiles of Adamji EPZ are protesting by blocking the road, demanding wages in the area of Chasara Narayanganj. On Wednesday (April 27) afternoon, they blocked one side of Bangabandhu Road in front of Narayanganj Press Club.

During this period, the workers demanded that their dues be explained in time. The workers said that at least 8 to 900 workers work in Beka Garments and Textiles, located in the Adamji EPZ area of Siddirganj. Some of them have two months' salary pending, and some have three months' salary pending.

None to remain homeless in country: reassures PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reiterated her pledge that none would remain homeless and landless in the country, saying she considered power as a way to serve the people. "None will remain homeless, landless and without address in Bangladesh. We are working to implement that target," she said. She said this while virtually distributing 32,904 houses to the beneficiaries at 492 upazilas across the country in the third phase under the Ashrayan-2 Project, reports BSS. Kalabagan Tentultala playground protection movement: mother and son released 

Syeda Ratna and her youngest son, Isa Abdullah Sadekin Piyanshuk, were freed on bail by the police after they mounted a demonstration against the construction of the Kalabagan police station building at the Kalabagan Tentultala field in August.

At 12:15 p.m. on Sunday (April 24), Paritosh Chandra, the officer in charge of the Kalabagan Police Station, verified that they were released at 12:15 p.m.
