Tk 90cr BSCIC expansion fails to attract industries
In the Narsingdi BSCIC industrial city, an expansion project costing nearly Tk 90 crore was undertaken due to unfavourable conditions in the original BSCIC industrial area.
More than 150 plots were created; however, poor management has hindered industrial development. Business owners attribute the lack of progress to corruption and favouritism under the previous government.
The Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial city was initially established in 1986 on a 15.39-acre plot in Shibpur, Narsingdi. Despite nearly four decades passing, the area remained underdeveloped, prompting the decision to expand the project.

Tributes paid to martyrs of BDR tragedy
Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury marked the Martyred Army Day on Monday by paying homage to military officials, who were killed during the 2009 BDR mutiny in Dhaka’s Pilkahan.

Clash at BAF Base in Cox’s Bazar leaves 1 dead
The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) base in Cox’s Bazar came under an unexpected attack today (24 February) by a group of miscreants from the neighbouring Samiti Para area, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
"In response, the Bangladesh Air Force is taking the necessary measures to address the situation," stated a press release signed by ISPR Assistant Director Ayesha Siddiqua.
