NBR targets Tk 4,000cr more from the rich  

The National Board of Revenue will collect an additional Tk 4,000 crore from the rich this fiscal year by applying some special measures. NBR likely to miss FY 2013-14 target  

The National Board of Revenue is likely to miss the target of realising Tk 1,25,000 crore revenue in the just ended fiscal year 2013-14 as the board fetched around Tk 1,03,625.31 crore during the eleven-month of the last fiscal. Thus it is hardly possible for the national exchequer to collect more Tk 22,000 crore revenues in a single month (June). According to the NBR, the board bagged Tk 1,03,626 crore as against the target of realising Tk 1,06,299.82 revenues during the July-May period of the last fiscal (2013-14), posting about Tk 3,000 crore revenue shortfall. In the beginning of the last fiscal year, the government set a target of realising Tk 1,36,000 crore revenues in FY 2013-14.
