On the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Geneva Conventions, Bangladesh has renewed its commitment to upholding International Humanitarian Law as outlined in the four Geneva Conventions and their two additional protocols. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized this in a statement issued on Monday, underscoring the nation's dedication to these global humanitarian principles.
The Geneva Conventions, established in 1949, serve as a cornerstone of international humanitarian efforts, outlining the responsibilities of nations in times of armed conflict to protect civilians, prisoners of war, and those who are hors de combat (out of the fight).

Newly appointed Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed and two more advisers to the interim government took oath at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Sunday.
