Bangladesh inks for Eurofighters in 1st pick of Western warplane

Bangladesh has signed a Letter of Intent to start talks to purchase the Eurofighter jet - a deal which would make it the first nation outside of Europe and the Middle East to buy the fighter.

The Bangladesh Air Force announced it would negotiate the deal with Italy’s Leonardo, the Italian firm which has handled the marketing of the jet to the Asian country.

The 13th national election and the referendum on the July National Charter will be held on February 12, 2026 (Thursday).

"Voting will take place on February 12, 2026, from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm," Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin announced the election schedule in an address to the nation this evening. Qatar to send rented German air ambulance for Khaleda

The air ambulance arranged for former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s medical transfer to London will come from Germany under a Qatar government facilitated arrangement.

“The Qatar government is renting an air ambulance, and it will come to Dhaka from Germany.” Public Relations Officer of the Qatar Embassy in Dhaka Asadur Rahman Asad told BSS here this evening.
