The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (EuroCham Bangladesh), the official Chamber of the European Union in Bangladesh and part of the European Business Organisation (EBO) Worldwide Network, has recently hosted the EuroCham Business Evening 2026 at the United Convention Centre, Dhaka, bringing together EuroCham members, the EU Delegation, Member State ambassadors and trade representatives, businesses, partners, and Government of Bangladesh officials to advance dialogue and cooperation for European businesses.
The event, themed “Delivering for European Businesses,” featured EuroCham’s first Annual General Meeting, the inaugural Advisory Council Meeting, and a Networking Cocktail. The event included Ambassadors from the EU, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, and France, and representatives from the above countries, as well as the Netherlands and Italy.
EuroCham Chairperson Nuria Lopez, in her remarks, underscored EuroCham’s advocacy role in Brussels for Bangladesh, including on GSP+ and a possible FTA in the future. She also highlighted EuroCham’s role in advocating for the interests of EU investors in Bangladesh and supporting a more transparent, business-friendly ecosystem—one that enables more European investors to consider Bangladesh’s potential as a manufacturing investment hub.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote by H.E. Ambassador Michael Miller, the EU delegation to Bangladesh, titled “The EU Means Business in Bangladesh.” In this, Ambassador Michael Miller highlighted the EU’s role as Bangladesh’s steadfast and reliable partner. He underscored the strength of the EU’s commercial relationship with the country and recalled its support for democratic renewal. To boost relations, Miller called in particular for a level playing field for EU operators, for policy stability during the coming period, and for the completion of reforms launched by the interim government.
