BNP leader Annie on 7-day remand

BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie has been remanded for seven days in connection with the attack, vandalism, and arson at the Bangladesh Television (BTV) building during the quota reform movement.
The remand was granted today by Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanta Akter following a hearing. Prior to this, the investigating officer of the case presented Annie in court, seeking a 10-day remand. The incident occurred on 18 July when the BTV office in Rampura was attacked. Following the incident, BTV Dhaka Centre General Manager Mahfuza Akter filed a case at Rampura police station the next day.
Annie was subsequently arrested last Thursday evening from the Elephant Road area in the capital.
