Dilip Deodhar, a well-known Nagpur-based RSS researcher, said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have tried to leave their differences behind, and the fall of the Hasina government in Bangladesh had a huge role to play.

"The Sangh had apprised the BJP leadership of its concerns that a regime change that took place in Bangladesh through street protests could also happen in India. Many of the Opposition leaders had spoken after the Bangladesh results that a similar thing was needed in the country. So, the concerns were not unwarranted. Both the Sangh and the BJP know that there are external forces that do not want India to have its own foreign policy."
