Alhajj Abdus Samad and Alhajj Abdul Malek Mollah have been re-elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of Executive Commitee of the Board of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd (AIBL) respectively. They were elected unanimously in the 273rd meeting of the Board of Directors held on 31 March, 2015. According to the decision of the meeting they will continue their responsibilities untill the next AGM of the Bank.
Alhajj Abdus Samad is one of the founder director of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Ltd. He is the Vice Chairman of S. Alam Group, one of the largest industrial group of the country. He is the chairman of S. Alam Cold Rolld Steels Ltd. Mr. Samad is also the founder director of Northern General Insurance Ltd. and Riliance Finance Investments Ltd.
Alhajj Abdul Malek Mollah is one of the founder director of the Bank. He came from a reputed Muslim family of Mothbaria thana of Pirozpur district. He is renowned for his social-welfare activities and affinity for education. Mr. Malek is one of the founder Trustees of Asia Pacific University of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Islamic University.
