Airtel introduces Mobile TV

Airtel Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing mobile operator of the country, brings a new offer called Airtel Mobile TV which will allow Airtel customers to enjoy live TV channels on their handsets. Rajnish Kaul, Chief Operating Officer of Airtel Bangladesh Limited introduced Mobile TV in Airtel’s Gulshan office recently This will be the first time Airtel customers will be able to experience live coverage of premium and non-premium TV channels on the go, anywhere and at anytime.

Airtel_Mobile TVWith the introduction of Airtel Mobile TV, valued Airtel customers will be able to browse through various channels under both 2G and 3G networks. Airtel Mobile TV service will be available as an application version for users of android phones through Google Play Store and a WAP version (http://tv.airtellive.mobi/) for all data enabled handset users. The mobile TV service covers live TV channels (Local, Premium and non-Premium), Video channels and movies along with exclusive videos of Manchester United.

The local live channels currently available are ATN Bangla, ATN News, Channel i, Ntv, Maasranga TV, Somoy TV, Desh TV, My TV, Banglavision, Independent TV, RTV and Boishakhi TV with more channels to be incorporated soon.

Premium channels will cover channels from sports, entertainment and movies sections like Manchester United, Star Plus, Life OK, Star Jalsha and Star Gold.

Non premium channels offered under the service will cover infotainment, music and religious channels like E24, Zoom, 9XM, Madina Live, Mekkah Live, Sangeet Bangla, Music India, Ruposhi Bangla and Travel XP.

Airtel will also be introducing video channels under genres of infotainment, humour, sports, and kids like People TV, Joke TV, Dance TV, Fitness TV, How to, Fight TV, Redline TV, Cartoon Channels, Xtreme Sports, Shortfilms TV, Travel TV and Bollywood Masala.

Hindi and Bangla Movies will be offered with a rate of BDT 20 per movie for a validity of 7 days. The movie list will be updated with time and new offerings. Airtel Bangladesh Limited will be offering the service under various packs for the convenience of customers.

In order to avail the service, Airtel customers will have to SMS “mTV” at 20304 or dial USSD code *234#. Customers can also reach the link directly through an SMS “Start TV” to 20304 or dial *234*1# (each channel/package has separate modal codes for activation). There will be no additional internet charges for customers to stream mobile TV contents as access is given on free minutes allotted as per each subscription pack. Airtel is offering the Airtel Mobile TV service pack under 3 separate validity categories of 1 day, 7 days and 30 days. Packs are customized as All Live Channel packs (all local channels + all premium & non-premium live channels) valid for 1 day with 30 minutes streaming at BDT 7, 7 days with 150 minutes at BDT 30 and 30 days with 500 minutes at BDT 80. For single channel pack (any from live premium channels), customers will have to pay BDT 2 for 5 minutes streaming with a validity of 1 day, BDT 10 for 50 minutes streaming with a validity of 7 days and BDT 40 for 250 minutes and a validity of 30 days. For single channel pack (any from live non premium channels), customers will have to pay BDT 1 for 5 minutes streaming with a validity of 1 day, BDT 5 with 30 minutes and a validity of 7 days and BDT 20 with 135 minutes and a validity of 30 days. All local channels will be available at a rate of BDT 3 for 3 minutes with 1 day validity, BDT 15 with 50 minutes for 7 days validity and BDT 50 with 200 minutes streaming for 30 days. Video channels will be available at a rate of BDT 3 with 10 minutes for 1 day, BDT 15 with 50 minutes for 7 days and BDT 50 with 200 minutes for 30 days. All packages are renewed automatically except for 7 day validity movie packages.
