Advocate Nurtaz Ara Oishi, the granddaughter of the martyred freedom fighter’s family, has demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary trial of those who cooperated with the dictatorial government in various ways, including Bangladesh Kalyan Party Chairman Major General (retired) Syed Muhammad Ibrahim and Barrister Shahjahan Omar.
She made this claim at a press conference held at the central office of the Bangladesh Swatantra Party Oikya Parishad at the Victory Memorial Tower in Tejkunipara of the capital on Wednesday.In the press conference Nurtaz Ara Oishi made 8 point demands to the interim government. The demands are- 1. The participants in the 12th parliamentary elections and the supporters of the dictatorial AL government should be prosecuted and arrested. 2. Preparation of police station wise list of victims of Hasina’s oppression.To provide redressed within 45 days of top ten incidents of critical public interest. 3.
The interim government needs to build its image by publicizing the issues of oppression by Hasina nationally. 4. The provision of seeking the support of one percent of the voters before the election of independent candidates should be abolished.5. Taking urgent action on the long pending claim of the martyred freedom fighter family regarding Bhasha
ntech rehabilitation project and Kalmilata Bazar. 6. Taking initiative to start at least 100 projects on urgent basis including the rehabilitation project undertaken by NSPDL for improving the life of ordinary slum dwellers and low class people without government money.7.
List of those who were martyred in this ongoing movement should be given the status of national heroes and compensation should be given to each family. The injured should be properly treated and rehabilitated, and 8. Acknowledging the ongoing movement and demands of the martyrs’ families regarding Bhashantek and Kalmilata Bazar Rehabilitation Project.
She announced a protest rally program that will be held Saturday at 11 am in front of the National Press Club demanding the trial and arrest of all the allies of the dictatorial government, including General Ibrahim and Barrister Shahjahan Omar, who participated in the 12th parliamentary elections, to protect the existence of the interim government.The son of the martyred freedom fighter, Abdul Quader, Abdur Rahim and many others were present in the press conference. Nurtaz Ara Oishi said that there was no crime that Sheikh Hasina has not committed while sitting on the neck of the nation for almost 16 years. Destroyed all constitutional institutions, used the state apparatus against the citizens of the country, built mirror houses to suppress dissent and opposition. The nation was at one time deeply disappointed. But finally students led mass movement compelled the dictator Hasina resign and flee.
