Bank Asia opens new branch in Gulshan

The 115th Branch of Bank Asia started operation at Gulshan-2 in the capital city Dhaka from today (Sunday, 2 April, 2017). Bangladesh calls Thailand for trade talks

Bangladesh has called on the Thai government to schedule the next meeting of the two countries’ Joint Trade Committee for June, as there remain a wide range of trade issues to discuss, notably high Thai import duties on Bangladeshi products. The JTC was created in the 1990s to enhance bilateral trade. HSC exams begin tomorrow

Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations of 2017 will begin across the country tomorrow. A total of 11,83,686 examinees from 8,864 educational institutions will take part in the examinations. Of the total candidates, 6,35,697 are male and 5,47,989 female. India is likely to give Bangladesh a credit line of at least US$3.5 billion (S$4.9 billion) for infrastructure projects during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s state visit next month, as Beijing and New Delhi jostle for geopolitical influence in South Asia.
