Community clinics take care of 12cr patients
As the number of patients is increasing at community clinics in rural areas of the country, some 12 crore people received healthcare facilities in 2016.
“There are 13,236 community clinics in the country. Now, 80 to 90 percent rural people are receiving treatment facilities from community clinics,” an official of Community Clinics Programme told BSS.
While talking to BSS, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim said, “Community clinic project is an important outcome of visionary leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

HRW scraps Rohingya refugee relocation plan
The Bangladeshi government should immediately drop its plan to transfer Rohingya refugees to an uninhabited, undeveloped coastal island, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said today. Relocating the refugees from the Cox’s Bazar area to Thengar Char island would deprive them of their rights to freedom of movement, livelihood, food and education, in violation of Bangladesh’s obligations under international human rights law.
Between 300,000 and 500,000 Rohingya Muslim refugees, most of them unregistered by the authorities, are in Bangladesh after fleeing persecution in Burma dating back to the 1990s. 
ADB for increasing private investment
Vice President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Wencai Zhang today said Bangladesh needs to take steps to increase private investment for maintaining the present trend of economic growth.
“Infrastructure development is imperative for Bangladesh to ensure an investment friendly environment,” said the visiting ADB vice president at a press conference here, reports BSS.
