BD sends 10,000MT rice to Nepal quake survivors

The Bangladesh government on Sunday dispatched 10,000 MT rice as humanitarian assistance for survivors of the earthquake of 25 April 2015. 132.6m mobile phone users in May

Bangladesh reached 132.64 million mobile telephony subscribers in May, up from 131.94 million in April, according to a report from the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). At end-May, mobile operator Grameenphone had 57.39 million mobile phone customers, mobilemobile followed by Banglalink and Robi with 32.23 million and 27.70 million mobile phone users, respectively. Airtel came next with 10.12 million mobile telephony subscribers, followed by Teletalk (4.46 million) and Citycell (735,000 million).

$ 150m World Bank grant for health

The World Bank said on Sunday it has approved US$150 million in additional financing to help improve Bangladesh's health systems and services, bringing its total support for health projects in the country to US$508.9 million.
