7 Bangladesh envoys asked to return home

As part of ongoing changes in administration, Bangladesh Ambassadors from the United States (US), Russia, Germany, Japan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the Maldives have been asked to return home leaving their current responsibilities with the respective missions abroad. The Ministry of Foreign has issued separate transfer orders in this regard, noting that, "You have been transferred to Dhaka." The government will soon send new ambassadors to those countries and more changes are likely. Former judge Manik fails to pay outstanding rent, utility bills

Former judge AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik has failed to settle outstanding dues related to a government-provided residence in Gulshan, Dhaka, which he occupied for over a year after his retirement. Despite repeated notices from the Public Works Department to vacate the property, Manik did not leave until May 2017. As of now, Manik owes the government a total of BDT 14,19,200, which includes rent, gas, and water bills. Attempts by a national daily to contact Manik for comments were unsuccessful. The interim government of Bangladesh is set to expand its advisory board by adding five new advisors.
