Bangladesh Post Office has been making remarkable strides in digital transformation, securing a notable position in the global ranking of postal services. Haroonur Rashid, Additional Director General at the Bangladesh Post Office, told the media that F-commerce (Facebook promotion) plays a pivotal role in the Post Office’s evolving digital strategy. “We are focusing on integrating our services with digital platforms to boost online business operations. The goal is to facilitate faster deliveries and seamless transactions for customers,” he stated.
To improve logistical efficiency, the Post Office has taken substantial steps to modernize its delivery network. According to Haroonur Rashid, the agency has already distributed 50 motorcycles to its postmen, with 40 currently operational in Dhaka city. This initiative is expected to accelerate delivery timelines and enhance last-mile logistics.
“Ensuring customer convenience is our top priority. By equipping our delivery personnel with motorcycles, we are optimizing the speed and efficiency of goods distribution,” he added.
As part of its digital transformation, Bangladesh Post Office is set to introduce a tracking and tracing system this month. This feature will enable consumers to monitor the status of their shipments in real time, both domestically and internationally.
“This tracking facility will bring greater transparency and reliability to postal services. Customers will no longer have to worry about lost or delayed parcels as they can check the status of their shipments anytime,” Haroonur Rashid said.
