Bank Asia, IBBL, SJIBL donate blankets to PM’s Relief Fund

Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) donated 50 thousand winter clothes to the Prime Minister’s relief fund. The clothes were handed over to Sheikh Hasina, honorable Prime Minister of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh by Engr. Mustafa Anwar, Acting Chairman of the Bank on December 20, 2014 at Ganabhaban. Nazrul Islam Majumdar, Chairman, Bangladesh Association of Banks and Mohd. Shamsul Haque, Deputy Managing Director of the Bank were present on the occasion.

Islami Bank has allocated 2 lac and 35 thousand warm clothes at a cost of Tk. 60 million for destitute people in the current year. Most of the clothes have already been distributed through its head office and branches.

Press- (2)Bank Asia donated 25,000 pieces of blankets to Prime Minister’s Relief and Welfare Fund to complement government’s support for cold-hit poor people in different parts of the country. Honb’le Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina received the blanket from Mr. A. Rouf Chowdhury, Chairman of Bank Asia and Mr. Rumee A Hossain, Chairman of Executive Committee of the Bank at a function held at the Prime Minister’s Residence “Gono Bhaban” on Saturday (20th December, 2014).

Like previous years, Bank Asia has been distributing warm clothes this year also among poor cold-stricken people in the rural areas.

Meanwhile, Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. handed over 20,000 pcs of Blanket to the Prime Minister Relief Fund on 20th December 2014, for distributing among winter hit People. The Chairman of Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd. Mr. A. K. Azad is seen handed over the Sample of a Blanket to the Prime Minister at Ganabhaban. The Vice-Chairman of the Bank Alhaj Mohammad Younus was also present.
