Bank Asia mobile financial service ‘Hello’ launched  

Bank Asia has launched its mobile financial service ‘Hello’ aiming to bring huge number of unbanked population of the country under financial service network. The program was launched at a function held at Spectra Convention Centre, Gulshan in the capital on Saturday (May 17, 2014).

Mr. AM Nurul Islam, Vice Chairman of the Bank was chief guest while Mr. Dasgupta Asim Kumar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank was special guest at the program.

DSC_2531Mr. Rumee A Hossain, Chairman of Board Executive Committee, Mr. Mohammed Lakiotullah, Chairman of Board Audit Committee, Mr. Shah Md. Nurul Alam, Director, Mr. Md. Mehmood Husain, President & Managing Director of Bank Asia, Engr. Rafel Kabir, Managing Director of Bangladesh BancNet Ltd, an IT solution organization and Syed Nazimuddin, SEVP & Head of Foreign Remittance Department of the Bank were, among others, present.

The new initiative has a number of features including cash-in, cash-out, foreign remittance payment, fund transfer, utility bill payment, merchant payment, salary disbursement and tuition fee collection. Bangladesh BancNet Ltd will provide required system support and distribution management services to the project.

Speaking the function Mr. Dasgupta Asim Kumar, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank put forward a number of suggestions including strong commitment from the Board of Directors, appropriate selection of agents and signing agreement with mobile companies to make the initiative a success. He informed the function that Bangladesh Bank has decided to set a uniform rate for mobile financial service and all related stakeholders will be included in the planned process.

Mr. AM Nurul Islam, Chief Guest of the program said Bank Asia has been striving for extending network from rural to urban areas to exploit untapped economic potentiality of people. He reiterated the Bank’s commitment for proper execution of the undertaken initiative – `Hello’ mobile financial services.
