Beximco Pharma to export to Australia

Country’s leading pharma manufacturer Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd makes a foray into Australian Pharma market with the launch of Pantoprazole, a drug for treating gastrointestinal disorder. This is for the first time pharmaceutical product from Bangladesh is being exported to Australia.

PhotoThe first consignment has been delivered recently and to mark this auspicious occasion, and to celebrate this milestone achievement, a brief ceremony was held at the company’s factory premises in presence of the Australian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, His Excellency Greg Wilcock. He was accompanied by Minhaz Chowdhury, Country Manager, Australian Trade Commission.  Beximco Pharma Chief Operating Officer Rabbur Reza received the delegation at the factory premises located in Tongi while other senior officials from the company as well as representatives from Singapore Airlines and Capital Logistics were present on this occasion.

The delegation was briefed about the company which currently has the highest number of global accreditations in the sector.  Following the ceremony, the High Commissioner also visited the state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities of Beximco Pharma and he was highly impressed with the world class manufacturing practices in its operation. He hoped that with the commencement of pharmaceutical export, business and cooperation between the two countries will continue to expand and reach new heights in the coming days.

It is worth mentioning that Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd. is a leading exporter of medicines in the country and its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities have been certified by global regulatory authorities such as TGA Australia, AGES Austria (for European Union), Health Canada, ANVISA Brazil, INVIMA Colombia and TFDA (Taiwan), among others.
