Boipremi Sangathan hosts iftar, community gathering in Laksham

In a vibrant display of community spirit and cultural exchange, Boipremi Sangathan, a prominent literary and social organization in Laksham, South Cumilla, hosted an Iftar and community gathering at the Nawab Faizunnesa Choudhurani Library. The event brought together intellectuals, activists, and book lovers in an evening dedicated to celebrating literature, culture, and social progress.

Moderated by Kamrul Hasan, General Secretary of Boipremi Sangathan, the program featured a keynote speech by renowned recitation artist Lutful Hasan Rumi.

Rumi is also a member of the Cultural wing of the National Citizens Party and serves as a Representative Member of the National Citizens Committee in Monohorganj Upazila. He is a key organizer of the National Citizens Party in Laksham and Monohorganj Upazila.

Journalist Mozammel Haque Alam, Laksham correspondent for Daily Rupali Bangladesh, served as the main speaker, highlighting the organization’s pivotal role in fostering intellectual activism and social initiatives.

Mostafizur Rahman Masud, the founder and president of Boipremi Sangathan, emphasized the organization’s commitment to transforming society through literature and social engagement. “We are committed to transforming society from within—books are not just for reading; they are tools for enlightenment,” Masud stated. He highlighted the organization’s efforts during recent floods, where they mobilized relief efforts, provided medical aid, and distributed essential supplies.

Speakers included Advocate Fazle Rabbi, Mehedi Hasan Shakil, and Abdullah, all of whom are active in the National Citizens Party (NCP). Their contributions underscored the importance of collective action in promoting social justice and cultural development.

The event saw the participation of several prominent members of Boipremi Sangathan, including Organizing Secretary Mehedi Hasan Ethun, Assistant Organizing Secretary Nurunnahar Alo, Office Secretary Sadia Islam Tina, Finance Secretary Al Amin Hossain, Publicity Secretary Maruf Mia, and members Mainur Akter, Tanvir Hossain, and Al Amin. Former General Secretary Ahmed Rafi and former Vice President Shahadat Hossain were also present, reflecting the organization’s strong legacy and continuity.

In his address, Mozammel Haque Alam emphasized that since 2019, Boipremi Sangathan has been a beacon of intellectual and philosophical activism in South Cumilla, fostering critical thinking and literary engagement in a society where such initiatives are rare. He noted that the organization is working relentlessly to instill human values, nurture intellectual consciousness, and build a culture of reading and learning among the youth.

The evening concluded with a special prayer for unity, social progress, and enlightenment, followed by Iftar and a networking session among attendees. With its steadfast commitment to intellectual growth, social activism, and literary engagement, Boipremi Sangathan continues to shape the cultural and civic landscape of South Cumilla, making it a vital force for change and enlightenment.
