Botswana minister in BD on rural dev mission

The Assistant Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration  of Botswana, Mr Phillip Makgalemele visited Bangladesh recently on issues related to poverty eradication.

Botswana Government Communications and Information Services (BGCIS) reports that the purpose of the assistant minister’s visit was to study Bangladesh’s poverty eradication model, as well as overall agricultural and economic progress through rural development.

BGCIS says Bangladesh foreign minister Mr Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali held official talks with the assistant minister where it was observed that he was the first ministerial level visitor from Botswana to Bangladesh.

While in Bangladesh, Mr Makgalemele encouraged local entrepreneurs to set up factories in Botswana to help create employment.

For his part, Bangladesh foreign minister is reported to have stated that Bangladesh’s businesses and Non-Governmental Organisations could contribute to Botswana’s socio-economic development.
